Frequently asked questions
What is cyber exit readiness?
A targeted increase of a portfolio company’s cyber maturity in the roughly twelve months before a sale. Like an internal audit, we find the levers that close gaps quickly and efficiently, and document the progress for the buyers’ due diligence.
When should exit readiness start?
Ideally about twelve months before the planned sale. With less time, we focus on the levers that can be done before the sale process starts.
How does exit readiness work?
A two-week buyer-view assessment produces the Cyber Value Scorecard and a lever backlog by value and effort. We then implement the measures with your team in quarterly sprints and build the evidence pack for the data room.
What do we get as a result?
A lever backlog ranked by value and effort, a maturity dashboard that shows progress, and an evidence pack for the data room.
How is exit readiness different from sell-side due diligence?
Exit readiness improves cybersecurity before the sale. Sell-side cyber due diligence documents the state for buyers. The two combine well: the exit readiness results become the sell-side report.
How does exit readiness fit into the investment lifecycle?
It is the sixth of seven steps, after the holding period and before sell-side due diligence. The whole sequence is on cybersecurity for private equity firms.
